So I live in Solebury where they did this a few months ago and then New Hope got the bright idea to follow along with a meaningless resolution as well. While an open carry walk might be fun, it's not going to further the cause in my opinion. A bunch of people showing up to protest at the next meeting might though. I think the town leaders need to understand just like the democrats in the recent election that their ideas aren't accepted by everyone in their town and that's how Trump got elected. Maybe we can get enough people within a town to sign a declaration to "over-rule" the towns liberal elite proclamation.

I'm also disappointed that the police chief backed all this crap, while I get it that anti-gunners are despicable and their true motivations are hidden by seemingly innocent agendas (banning guns from terrorists), many haven't been to rallies, etc to see it first hand and are easily swayed.

One of our setups for folks we didn't want to hang out with was to tell them to meet at the Cartwheel bar...we weren't there. Is that place still there? Talk about some butt hurt! LOL!

The Cartwheel burned down in 2005. It's just a vacant lot right now.

Just remember... an OC walk in New Hope is fine... just don't cross the bridge!

I wouldn't step onto the bridge. If memory serves - both sides have jurisdiction ON the bridge.

Both sides may indeed have jurisdiction (i.e., the ability to enforce laws) ON the bridge, the political border between the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey is in the middle of the bridge. One can Pennsylvania carry (open, or concealed with an LTCF) up to the border line in the middle of the bridge, but not past that line. As long as one is in Pennsylvania, New Jersey cops can't hold you to comply with their guns laws.

Of course, if you're in a car and find yourself on the bridge, then you may well indeed have problems.

    "Non-binding resolution" = meaningless.

I made my own Weird Al version of the Chilli Peppers song some years ago.

Under the New Hope Bridge.... I gave my butt away.

I will take the ticket and any other heat that comes my way for backing off the bridge before I will cross that line...
