    Default Sig 226 for CC

Is a Sig 226 too big for concealed carry? If not, would a 228 or 229 still be too big?

I'm not going to lie, its huge. However during winter its not an issue since well we all wear larger clothes and jackets. Come summer i might need to reconsider it. But i love the gun otherwise.

Depends on your size/shape and how you dress. Even in the summer, you can conceal a bazooka under a Hawaiian shirt. The single stack guns are certainly easier to conceal.

It's not that difficult to CC. When I got mine, it was my first gun and I used to CC with it. I still do on occasion. I use a desantis speed scabbard and it keeps the gun tight and flat against the body.
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

I carried a full-size P220R (folded slide) for quite a while with no problems. As was said, a lot depends on your body type and size, and something that wasn't mentioned - the holster you use. I carried in a VM II. With the belt-loops off the gun it narrows the package somewhat and also distributes the weight over a broader area.

A 229 or 228 are pretty much the same width, but have shorter barrels and a shorter grip frame - so they may fit your carry mode better.

THe 228/229 are the perfect carry SIGs, perfect size while still maintaining a decent capacity , no problems summer or Winter, the 226 were designed to be a Police/Military service weapon, most likely to be carried in a service holster, its the same size as a fullsize 220.

I have a 226 Elite in 9mm. It is too big and heavy to carry all day. I use it as a range gun and carry my S&W M&P 9c.

I carry a P220R concealed in a Crossbreed ST with no problem. The 226R is the same size.

Whether or not you can conceal a certain gun comfortably isn't up to us.

So true... I use to carry a 229 all day everyday and it was comfortable becuase i didnt know any better. Now i have 3in and 4in 1911's that I carry becuause that is what I wanted to carry and shoot. I guess my point is carry a gun that you want to and can shoot well.
