Re: Accurate 7.62x39 rifle?
More accurate than an AK? How far out are you shooting? I can hit targets at 100 yards easily with any of my AKs. Beyond that, I don't try, as my vision isn't that hot.
You may find an SKS to be more accurate. Keep in mind, I don't think a 7.62x39 round is meant to be a long distance dead-accurate round in any platform.

There is a bolt action carbine by CZ which serves your purpose. They're great looking and very reasonably priced. Hopefully they'll come out in 5.45 soon as well.

Re: Accurate 7.62x39 rifle?
In my experience in shooting both rifles I think that an AR is more accurate than an AK. Sabre Defense makes an M4/M5 Carbine in 7.62, its about $1300-1400. Check them out. Or like Yellowfin said their is the CZ Model 527 Carbine Bolt Action and also the Remington Model 799 Bolt Action, which are both around $600. But it all depends on what you are shooting and how far your shooting.

If Im buying a bolt action Id just stick to 308 or 06.
the x39 round is what it is.

I have an SKS and am reasonably accurate with it. I tried one that a friend had with a scope on it and it was fantastic. Very accurate IMHO.

80% of "accuracy & precision" is the round you're firing - have you tried match quality x39 in your AK?

Re: Accurate 7.62x39 rifle?
How accurate do you want it? I find that my SKS, if the trigger is smoothed up a little, and the ammo is good quality shoot very well. I also recently got a nice very thin post front sight from Tapco that really improves the sight picture. Try the simple things first.

Dragunov? Maybe a similar knockoff with a longer barrel, bipod, and scope. You could also build a 'Saiganov.'
Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it.
