Im getting beat up by the Knoxx stock.
I thought this one hundred dollar stock was supposed to reduce felt recoil. Well maybe I installed mine backward because it is knoxxing the crap out of me. If I "kiss" the gun when aiming much more my dentist will soon be replacing all my lower right teeth. The manual said something about cheek slap but I tried it and it doesnt seem to work. If I dont closely aim the recoil feels great but I getting KO'd by my own gun doesnt sound like much of a defense. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it? Thanks, Brian

How close are you putting your face to the receiver?

I'd send it back. They just look funny to me, like they have a chunk off the top that is missing. lol

Re: Im getting beat up by the Knoxx stock.
Keep your head in an upright position and bring the gun up to your line of sight. Do not cant your head to the side. The pistol grip is a bit different than a standard rifle stock grip.
I drop my firing elbow to my side and mount the shotgun a bit closer to the center of my body and a small bit higher on my shoulder pocket.
When you drop your firing elbow you get a bit more beef in the pocket, get a firm grip and let it rip.
What type of rounds are you using?

Re: Im getting beat up by the Knoxx stock.
I was using my typical rifle stance which puts my face pretty close to the receiver. Ill try backing off and not tilting. Im using a variety of loads from 3 inch magnum 00s to reduced recoil police stuff and slugs. Everything hurts to the point Im thinking about switching back to stock.

Re: Im getting beat up by the Knoxx stock.
The manual clearly states not to put your face too close the receiver.
I found mine greatly reduces the felt recoil from the 00 Buck LE Flite Control Federal rounds I use for home defense.
I made sure to set the stock distance so that my face was not near the receiver, but yet felt natural in my hands. I still rest my cheek on the butt stock to line up my sights.FNX-9 Two-tone

Re: Im getting beat up by the Knoxx stock.
I have never shot one of these, but my understanding is that they have springs in the stock which eat the recoil.
Shouldn't the receiver be bouncing back by design into the spring (and your face)?

Re: Im getting beat up by the Knoxx stock.
There are videos available from the BlackHawk website (Knoxx website) - yes there are two springs, one is in the handle of the SpecOps stock.

Check out the information on the various tabs on this page.
You will onlt get slapped in the face if you put your nose too far fwd over the slide area. Move your face back the recommended distance and there is no issue. I worried about this when I first installed my stock, but after shooting like 80 rounds out of it, am not worried about it anymore.
