How close are we to an armed revolt?

Just a question posed to all forum members; How close are we to an armed revolution and what in your opinion would be the final line in the sand that would trigger this?
Maybe this question should have been some sort of poll instead? Anyway, your thoughts please.

I do not advocating such action and do not condone it either. There are many responses to post asking "is it time yet" etc. and I am wondering what or why people have the sense that something like that is going to come to pass. No where in my post is there any inflammatory language or support for such action.

I understand the OP's question, as every day I see the news, it feels like "zero hour" is another tick closer...

But, here's the problem-- if armed revolt occurs, we lose. We won't only lose in logistics, tactics, expertise, and firepower, but we lose on principle.

The only way to get through this is peacefully. Do not voluntarily give up your weapons-- make them arrest you (again-- peacefully). In less than a week, there will be no jail cells left, and there are legions of attorneys willing to fight on our behalf. It'll suck for a while, but we will win, and not just on principle.

There is a reason Malcolm X had comparatively-little impact in changing the minds and hearts of people, compared to Martin Luther King Jr.

Or the armed separatists of India, compared to those who followed the peaceful directions of Mohandas Gandhi.

And once we win that fight, we take it one step further. We revive the classical education and teach it to our children, yanking them out of a failing public school system. We make the Federalist Papers standard reading material, and ensure that everyone who sympathizes with our cause knows them by heart. We come to the aid of people who were let down by the government bureaucracy. We donate our hard-earned money to doctors setting up their own clinics outside the sphere of government-run health care.

And most importantly, we become proficient in computer programming to ensure that the communication of our ideals stays open when the government tries to block it off.

Let's not forget that it took the totalitarians more than 150 years to get this close. Thanks to the age of digital information, it won't take nearly that long to beat them back. But be prepared for a lot of resistance, and be prepared to live with a loss of freedom, likely for the rest of our lives. However, if we stick to our ideals, our children and grandchildren can enjoy more freedoms than we did.

I would more properly define it as an armed defense. Defense of country from Domestic Invaders, except for the leader.....he's NOT domestic.

I just wish there was a FAST way to get these idiots out of positions of power... and I am speaking of ones like Feinstein and others like her... like the military has to remove someone "unfit to command"..... then most of the problems would be gone....

Mussolini, Hitler, Lenin, Castro, and Mao all did exactly that. That's the problem with this premise-- it cuts both ways.

In my travels for work, I've heard this conversation played out many times over the last month. Last night, for instance, in of all places, Fontana, CALIFORNIA. Weird... Others were in Phoenix, Dallas, Columbus, Harrisburg, Syracuse, Ocala, and still more. My point being, it's not just a few 'wackos' or 'anarchists' in PA, its a lot of PEOPLE, all over!

Furthermore, we SHOULD be having these conversations. Our founding fathers did before signing the Declaration of Independence!

Finally, in the end, if all else fails (legal, legislative, protests, etc), will it really do any good to get down on your knees and let them cart you off to prison? The answer is no! As more laws and entitlements are put in place, and we move farther into Socialism, will the rulers care about incarcerating those 'pesky gun nuts'? One need look no farther than welfare and our existing penal system for the answer, it's just one more item in the budget...
