Re: what should i do
IMO: return them asap.
also, in my many years of experiences with ARs and my m16, there's only ONE quality AR/m16 40rd mag made of steel:
Sterling MFG for the AR18.
otherwise, honestly, stick to milspec 30rd mags, and current good technology magazines.
most steel mags, aside from the Brit SA80/85 mags and the HK 416 mags are complete junk.
if you are looking for extra high capacity, there is only one name:
beta c-mag corporation 100 rd drum.
ditch the steel 40rd USA or Promag abortions back to CTD"Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH

Send them back.
BTW, JayBell is right on with the USA's being garbage, I have never seen one that works correctly for any gun.

Re: what should i do
One other thing to try. If you have a friend with an AR that is not a DPMS, let them try the mags.
DO NOT force them into the well. They should go in easy, no force.
I had a 5rd. plastic aftermarket mag that jammed into the well of one of my AR's. I had to destructively remove the mag with a hammer and screwdriver.
If they work in the other AR see if you can trade for something.
If not, lesson learned, I tossed out a USA mag or 2 myself.
