Hoplophobia- the morbid fear of weapons.

Obviously non of us here are.

My purpose for this thread is to find a word that would best describe us; gun, knife, weapon loving folk.

I have seen Hoplophile, but putting -phile next to a word is generally perceived as a bad thing, i.e pedophile.

I mean why not. Their are Guitarists[insert music instrument here]. Automotists who love and collect hundreds of cars, antique and modern. Techies with their computer and modern technology skills. Photographers.

That's all i can come up with for examples.

So lets think of something that would give us a name unto ourselves.

That's because these words are invented to signify a deviation from the norm. A hydrophobe is afraid of water. You wouldn't say "hydrophile". You'd say "normal".

Another example, if a pedophile is bad, then logically being a pedophobe would be good. However, both are considered abnormal.

By creating a title, you label that as being abnormal. We're not abnormal.
