Re: Why do Americans let their police TORTURE their own countrymen?
Context. What is the context? What occurred prior to the use of nonlethal force? It appears to me that during the arrest she was resisting police demands to roll onto her stomach. She resisted, the police used nonlethal force to make her comply. Once the nonlethal force was applied, she complied.
Torture? I think not. Discomfort? Definitely.1/111th IN

Cops get tasered as part of thier training, same as OC and CS spray...they know what it feels like so they aren't hasty in applying the force without knowing how it is.
I have 3 cop buddys that have been taserd, they say it sucks, but its a lot less than being pepper spreayed.

I've been tasered. Took the whole 5 second ride. Not as bad as pepper spray because after 5 seconds it's over. The taser certainly has the potential to be abused and in some cases its use may be questionable. When used appropriately it's an effective and safe means of controlling an uncooperative or violent person.

Re: Why do Americans let their police TORTURE their own countrymen?
Well at least they didn't taser her 4 times then shoot her in the head as they did to that Marine.
She shoulda pulled a Maurice Clarett and worn body armor then the taser doesn't work
haha that was kinda funny, they decided to stop trying to handcuff her. Stand up then taser her while she's on the ground. I don't see much of a violent resistor in that lady. Although she was wearing a headscarf.

Re: Why do Americans let their police TORTURE their own countrymen?
I have been pepper sprayed twice. Once in college someone sprayed a bunch outside my dorm room, the second time was during the WTO "riots." in Seattle, I was minding my own business walking home (and watching people get pepper sprayed by what looked like fire extinguishers) The cops had these awesome tear gas cannons, well they shot one at the crowd and it landed at my feet. a big puff of smoke and I was done for.
I would have much rather been tazered.
It looks like the lady is kicking at the very beginning of the video. Videos like this bother me because like Stryker_11a said, what is the context? Maybe she just kicked on cops in the balls and punched another in the face. Knowing they are being recorded they opted to tazer her rather then club her in the head with a flashlight. who is to say.
