    Default Can anyone help ME?

ok i have a rifle that was my grandfathers. It is a bolt action centerfire 35-06 Whelen. The stock and front handgrip appear to be walnut and is one piece going to pretty much the end of the barrel. There are very few markings on it and no manufacturer.

the markings on the barrel is 2 stars 35.06 then a heart with an M in the middle of it. what i am thinking is a model number is Y-5577 or 7755 i do not remember which but i know those are the numbers and then the serial number is stamped on the bottom of the reciever.

I am sorry that i cannot include pictures at this time due to my camera is in germany with my wife and i am in FT Riley Kansas.
I Appreciate any ones help or ideas where to look for the info.

    Thanks Again,
    Tim

We should be able to, problem is we just ned a little more info to go on.

A picture would be the best thing, and to verify those numbers you found.

Verify the model number...I did a quick search on Numrich (they have a pretty decent cross reference) for 7755 or 5577 and came up blank...did find a few 77's and 55's though.

Not uncommon for a rifle or shotgun not to have a name on it, many were made for Sears, Western Auto, JC Penney or other big retailers and just have a model number on it..verify the numbers and we may be able to help.

There is a 775 model cross referenced to a Mossberg 800...only picture I could find is from an old ad....is this it by chance?
