Hay, my SL8 is back from the shop

Just got my SL8 back, and it's no longer gray!



It will replace my 550 as the flag ship!

SWEET SL8 MAN! really!
I actually saw a nice blue/grey one at my local shop. Liked it so much i actually started to look around, what it would take for me to do the conversion so it take 30rd AR mags.
Is it as simple as buy the kit, swap the trigger group to the pistol grip and walla?

A small section of the receiver wall on the right side have to be machined off, otherwise, the double columm mag won't have enough room to go in, and the cut out is covered up by a build-in section on the conversion unit.

I don't think the cut out is hard to do by myself, but I just didn't want to take a chance, and have it sent out to be done by Special Weapons at Mesa AZ.

I think it cost me something like $50 to have that done a couple years ago!

I have no problem with the blue/grey color at the begining, but after I put the G-36 furnitures on, it looks kind of funny!

I've got an SL8-1 from 1998. I was interested in doing a conversion to it, but then it seemed like everyone was doing the conversion.

So mine is as it was from the factory and I got the 3x scope/handle.
