PA Gunsmith School
hey all, just sent in my application for pgs and will hopefully start this febuary.
I was wondering if there are any current students or past graduates who could suggest good places to find projects? 12 bluings,2 re-stocks,35 repairs over the 16 month period. I have 5 pistols and a few family members who own multiple firearms but would still need other sources for projects to work on. thanks.

Re: PA Gunsmith School
you could post here for people that need stuff fixed, as long as you're going to take care of it.
reminds me I need to track down a firing pin for this model 62.

Re: PA Gunsmith School
I know a lot of places that sell guns on the internet have specials on guns that don't meet their conditions. Like, I was looking at Century Arms flier last night. They have guns that don't necessarily work, and may be missing some parts for cheap. Like, you can get a Mosin Nagant for $19. So something like this might be a good place to pick up some stuff, fix it, meet the requirements for your course, then sell it as a shooter and make a few bucks. Just a thought.

I really wish I had my C&R, if any C&R people buy one of these and decide they really don't want it, I would gladly take it off your hands.

Re: PA Gunsmith School
I realize it's somewhat off-topic for this particular forum, but if you're interested in a C&R they're relatively inexpensive ($30.00/3 years) and take less than an hour of your time to get.
There are quite a few sites out there with instructions on how to obtain the C&R, but I thought that this was the cleanest of them all.

For our soon-to-be-smith, this might (as suggested) be a good way to get your hands on some older guns that need a little TLC.
