My daughter's blond moment
Yes my daughter is blond, well mentally at least tonight. She is 16 and my youngest; the other two are boys.
We were discussing that our old TV is nearly dead and Dad is ordering a flat screen. She asked me " Does the old TV have a jack?"
Me: "Why do you ask?
Her reply " well how does the TV get power?"
Me: well it has a power plug like all appliances.
Her: "A power plug? I thought it was called a jack".
Oh my....... I think it's a good thing she is still in HS.
BTW : I am teaching her to drive but that's a whole "nuther story.

Re: My daughter's blond moment
On the way to soccer practice on Monday my 5 year old pointed to my magazine pouch containing 2 17 round mags and asked me "what are those?" and I said "those are magazines" (oh she really IS blonde btw) and she says to me "oh. are those for daddy to look at?" Swear to god that's exactly what she asked me and she was serious as a heart attack! We just rolled!
On the way back from the beach on Sunday my husband is driving and she asks him "daddy are you awake?" NO SHIT.
Last year when we were expecting snow over the weekend my mom was taking her for the weekend so I am getting a snowsuit and boots out for her just in case.... she asks what they are for. My mom being the smartass she is says "oh in case we go swimming!" my daughter says "oh yeah! so my feet don't get too wet!"
The things kids say!!! Now you said your daughter is 16...have you been writing things down all these years????

Re: My daughter's blond moment
My daughter was waiting for her turn to take her driving skills test. She was watching the girl in front of her fail her parallel parking test.....and laughing at her. My wife told her not to laugh because she was next.
Yep. She failed. Apparently when parallel parking, you have to be closer than FOUR FEET to the curb. The concrete filled pipes she had to park between apparently threw her off. At least that is her story and she is sticking to it.
She is starting to understand karma.

My girlfriend is blond and boy oh boy do the "moments" fly by. Scary thing is she's got a year of college for elementary education. haha.
Example (paraphrased) :
her: "I washed the thing on the mattress, the pad thing"
me: "You mean the mattress pad?"
Thats just a quick one I can think of right now."Unus ut caput capitis"

Re: My daughter's blond moment
When we got our Jeep Wrangler my kids got in and wanted to open the windows, but had no clue how because there was no button to make them go up and down. I told them about the good old days and showed them how to use the handle, and my youngest, a blond, asked "is that why you always say roll down the windows?"
You are a straight white man. You don't get to be the victim, sweetie.

My daughter isn't usually so blond. Right now she is taking Chem. AND Human Anatomy, neither of which I took in HS. She's smarter than I was so when these moments happen it's like... whooooaaahhhh where'd THAT come from?

Re: My daughter's blond moment
A guy at work was telling a story not long ago about his son. His son asked to borrow the car, and here's a quick summary of how the conversation went:
Dad: Sure, get the key from the drawer.
Son: Where's the remote?
Dad: Your mother has it, just use the key.
Son: How do you use the key?
Dad: What? Just put the key in the lock.
Son: What lock?
Dad: Are you kidding me? The lock on the door!
Son: Oh.... is that what that's for?
This kid actually thought that you HAD to have a remote key fob to open the door of the car! It's scary that we have we become so high tech a society that kids don't know you can use a key to open a car door."Political Correctness is just tyranny with manners"
