CAR GUYS - restoration help
I have a 42 GPW and just got new windshield glass.
I now need the seal that goes around the glass and in the channel the glass sits in.
It nothing more than 1/16th rubber or butyl strip. Problem is I cannot find anyplace that has it in lengths that I need: 1in x 72in x 1/16th in.
Major online catalogs (MSC etc) only have 3 or 4 foot rolls.
Who know where I can score a roll with enough to do 2 pains at the above size?
I would use jeep parts vendors by they want $45+ ship from CA... no way that seal is $60 locally.
I did try 2 local glass shops.. no go.

Re: CAR GUYS - restoration help
my suggestion would be to find a hot rod shop around you and ask them. i'll bet they use the stuff all the time...if they are really nice guys, they might even sell you however much you need out of their supply. at the least, they might be able to point you in the right direction for a good source.

As much as I hate to say it, you might want to check JC Whitney too. Last I saw, they had a rather large selection of weather stripping. They were the only place i could find the roof weather stipping for my pop-top Trailduster that I used to have.
