Something I've been meaning to ask

A friend and I were playing show and tell. I brought over my moded AK and my tac vest and some other shit. He showed me his blackhawk tac vest and what the compartments were for and this and that. He said this particular compartment is for my handcuffs. He is not a police officer or law enforcement in any capacity.

So it got us talking about carrying handcuffs, while ocing, with spare mags, possible mace or oc spray on the belt and knife.

What we were debating was having a bat belt with all of the above minus the handcuffs is ok. But are you pushing the envelope carrying the handcuffs? Can you be arrested for having all above on a belt? When is it going to far?

I'm not talking about a badge or even saying your a LEO just to be clear.

I limit what I carry to my firearm, a knife (need it for work) a flashlight, spare mag(s), and a section of para cord that is woven into a handle for my work knife.

i wouldn't carry handcuffs or anything that a left winger could wrangle into "he is a cop wannabe". Just my opinion here, but, if you ever have to use your firearm, you are going to want to appear as unassuming as Walter Mitty when the press and the cops arrive. Imagine the fun they will have with you when they find cuffs, a baton, 4 'D' cell headcracker flashlight, all positioned tactically on a "BAT-BELT". Now, take that little vision, multiply it by a factor of 10, and now you have what the press will do to you for shooting poor little Johnny the Thug. " He was such a good boy, always helping little old ladies, and singing in the church choir. It's a shame that bad old cop wannabe shot him".

See what I mean? Unassuming is a good thing to be when the SHTF. It's sometimes refered to as being the 'grayman'.

If it's not illegal then there is no reason why you can't do it. A DA would have a pretty hard time convicting you of impersonating the police while you were trying to pick out ripe tomatos at the grocery store.

Yeah i forgot to mention the surefire as well....so if you have the oced gun, OC spray, cuffs, flashlight, cellphone, knife, and spare mags you won't get arrested?

as long as you're not hanging out with FloridaState, and wearing your Act 235 badges that make you better than average people, you shoul dbe fine. i'd skip the handcuffs, though; what practical reason could you have for carrying those? all the other stuff is shit i'd carry.
