Handgun 101 this saturday 04/26
I'm attending the Handgun 101 class at Bob's Gun Shop this Saturday. Is anyone else going?

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what is covered in the class or who is training, but I'm sure whoever it is knows a lot more than me. LOL

Re: Handgun 101 this saturday 04/26
Bob teaches the classes himself, with either Mark Schultz or Dave Burlingame lending a hand on the range for safety.. sometimes both of them help out.. all three are great guys.
As far as Bob's background, he was a Drill Sgt in the USMC with two tours of battle, and many confirmed kills. He has a wall full of medals and certificates on display in his classroom.
There's also a personalized picture from R. Lee Ermey which is pretty cool. All three of them regularly attend train-the-trainer type classes at blackwater, and other places.
Subjects Covered in 101
1. Handgun systems and domestic self defense
2. Ammunition applications and liability
3. Principles of marksmanship
4. Administrative handling of hand guns
5. Safe gun handling
6. Static dry firing
7. Live fire, individual coaching
8. Live fire, precision shooting
9. Cleaning and Maintenance
10. Principles of self defense/Force continuum

Re: Handgun 101 this saturday 04/26
I'll be at 201 in June and I'm going to try for 301 in August. You guys will be hogging the range in the afternoon when I get out of work Saturday! Bob's a pretty straight shooter and a friendly guy but if your of the thin skin type of personality, you won't like him. He takes it as well as he gives, though. He's got a great story about Jeff Cooper's comments regarding his P7 at Gunsite.

Considering you designed Bob's website, you might wanna get the specifics and add it to the website. One distinction from the website you made and most other training sites is that there is nothing listed about the trainer and his qualifications. It would probably boost the enrollment if people saw exactly what kind of experience / training he has, otherwise it kinda just looks like some guy that owns a gun store is teaching a class.
