    Default IWB holsters

When you wear an IWB, if you tuck your shirt in, doesn't the part of the holster that attaches to your belt still show? I mean, you could wear an outer garment to cover it, but thats not always possible.

do you guys get people that notice the clips or straps or whatever on your belt and wonder what it is? or am I just missing something thats completely obvious?

on tuckable IWB's clips will show. 99.9% of the population is oblivious. The only invisible alternative is using velcro holster mounts attached behind the belt.

The holster i currently use is not tuckable. I've never found a need for tuckable holsters in my style of dress and i find the non-tuckable types slightly more stable.

Oh, and j-hooks suck ass...just one mans opinion.

    Spot on.

I will add that only a small part of the clip shows on most models. On the VMII I linked to it is a 1/4"-ish piece protruding from under the belt.

The visibility of which can be further minimized by "blousing" your shirt a bit...

I agree with Marc that while the clips are noticable, most people will not notice them. And when tucking your shirt, you need to "fluff" the bottom out so the gun will not print...meaning that you cannot tuck it in uber tight. and this will cover most of the clip.

I use a Comp-Tac MTAC tuckable holster and I love it. I don't tuck much, but when I do, it works great. I have tried all of their clips and find the C-style clips to work best in most situations.

I have two black C-clips on a black belt. How noticeable is it, with my shirt 'fluffed' out over the top of the belt? I don't know for sure, but no one has ever said anything about it. I use a tuckable holster because I don't know how else, besides pocket carry to carry while wearing khaki pants and a button down shirt.

There are some "J" hook style holsters made that wouldn't show up horribly bad if you were wearing black pants and a black belt.

I tried the J Hooks on my holster and found that the holster would sometimes pull my pants down and slide out of the belt. The C clips have shown to work the best for me.

On my crossbreed supertuck the J hooks are better than the standard ones but they do the same thing that you have just mentioned. I will switching to the c-clips shortly .
