Very good quality glass.
It does enable one to make effective shots at distance.
Downside is that it really isn't something you can keep mounted on the rifle and it impacts eye relief.
IMHO, it does well in the role of allowing one to mount it to the rifle in order to take a shot at a target of opportunity at distance (time permitting of course).

It's also tough to justify $400 to have 3x power. You could buy a scope and add some quick release rings and have two optics options.

The cost of an Aimpoint and 3x magnifier would cost you the same as buying an ACOG. The ACOG will offer you magnification and it's one unit compared to having two units with the Aimpoint and magnifter. The ACOG will also take less space and weigh less than the Aimpoint combo. Just some food for thought.
