FFL/LEO question
How does it work when a LEO goes to their local gun shop and buys a handgun? Do they just put it on their badge? PICS check? Fees? Or is there a whole different set of rules and regs?
Thanks
Nate

Re: FFL/LEO question
In PA they are under the same requirements as everyone else on purchasing a firearm. PICS, 4473, PSP form, etc..

Although they do get hefty discounts on Glocks at certain dealers, I understand!

Re: FFL/LEO question
So a PSP trooper would still have to fill out the form that could go to his office for "reference"? Is it just me or doesn't this seem like a waste of time?

Only if it's an authorized Glock LE dealer. There's only one in Pittsburgh and right now they don't have any 21SF's on stock.

yes, they would have to fill out the same form as you or I.
Please dont think I'm anti-LEO. ...but if we have to fill out such paperwork, then they should too. Laws are supposed to apply equally, regardless of race, gender, creed, class, etc.

I completely agree with you. Just curious as it seems like overkill.

Re: FFL/LEO question
I bought two firearms last week. Filled out all the same paperwork and paid the same price that anyone else would. One place knew my reserve LEO position and the other didn't. Made absolutely no difference at either place. I waited my turn in line just like everyone else too.

You're getting worked up over a non-issue. LEO's buy guns like any other citizen when it comes to laws, paperwork, etc.
