The USA is now a banana republic. Only without the bananas....or the Republic.

    Quick spot light section:

This act requires a parent or guardian to notify a school district, or the governing body of a private or charter school, that he or she owns a firearm within 30 days of enrolling the child in school or becoming the owner of a firearm.

The written notification only needs to include the names of the parent and any child attending the school and the fact that the parent owns a firearm....

...Failure to notify the school under this act is an infraction, punishable by a fine of up to $100. If a person is found guilty of negligent storage of a firearm and has failed to notify the school of firearm ownership, the person must be fined $1,000 in addition to any other penalties authorized by law.

If it is in fact true, I'd simply ignore it. If my kid uses a gun of mine to shoot someone, a $100 fine and a $1000 additional fine added on will be the least of my worries.

    I like the logic.

found a post on yahoo that hits home about guns, children, etc.:

”This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!” ~Adolph Hitler, 1935, on The Weapons Act of Nazi Germany

"The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the
people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of
the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty
    and almost any deprivation.”

    –Mein Kampf, by Adolf Hitler

I understand that this is strictly emotional response and the thought of easy money talking... but what about all the other things in the house?

Bows, crossbows, kitchen knives, uncovered electrical outlets, lawn darts, swimming pools without lifeguards, carseats, Rx drugs, alcohol etc., etc.

If the point is to make homes safer or protect the children there are a lot more common dangers then firearms.

    Where's the common sense?

Would this be so that the faculty could take extra precautions with those students living in gun-infested households?

Nah, "infestation" is for fleas, cock-roaches and rats. Not guns.

    My house is not infested

Leave it to our government be it local, state or federal. When the opportunity arises for them to capitalize monetarily they are all over it.
