Default Help me date this Glock 21

I have a potential deal to buy the shown Glock 21. I am no glock expert and need help to determine the rough date of this gun. It is the regular 21, not the SF, what is throwing me off is that it does not have the rail. What would be an approximate date for this piece, meaning when did they switch to the rail on the frame?

There are 3 grenerations of Glock. This one came between generation 2 and 3. It is called a 2.5.
    I would say its from June 1997. . .

    Get the Serial Number.

You can find out exactly when it was made:

If you do buy it make sure it has the lastest #4256-1 trigger bar. If it were me, I'd also replace the spring loaded bearing and all five (5) internal springs. (Consistent lock up on early G-21's can be problematic.) Nice catch, though, it's a classic!

Yeah after I read my title after I posted it I wondered how long it would be before someone called me out.

    Good rib.
Then you take her to a gin joint for some soft jazz and stiff drinks...

Lol, sorry, had to take it one step further. Nice find tho, my friend's dad has a Glock 23 I might buy off him that has the same kind of frame with no rail. It was a law enforcement issue. The one thing that has stopped me from scooping it up right away is the lack of accessory rail. I gotta be able to put goodies on it...

ETA: How much does the seller want for it, if you don't mind me asking?
When seconds count, the police are usually just minutes away...

    It's a trade deal...

Would say it is valued at about $500... new in box with 2 mags. Has nite sights, but has me wondering how much longer they are good if they are 12 years old.
