    Default Trade-in value.

I was offered $400 for trade-in on my Vertec.

Just wondering if that is fair. That's about what I figured that would be a fair trade-in price.

I'm not where I can get to my gun value books otherwise I'd give you what it might be worth to sell outright. Trade value is going to be lower as the dealer will want to be able to sell it and make some money. Or if trading on a private level, it is what the two parties agree what it's worth. If you are happy with what is being offered, go for it. If you think it is worth more, do a bit of research and go from there.

I looked up the value in the blue book, that is how I came up with the price.
I also looked at what they are going for on the auction sites.
I just wanted to make sure neither of us was getting screwed.

I look for an average price on gunbroker, the cost of any accessories or ammo included in the deal, add them all up, and that's a starting point. I then subtract some depending on wear, how many rounds have been put through it, and if they're friends or forum members, knock it down further...

    --or--

If you look at it all and say "The least I can take is $400" then that's the best price around... lol

You got some pics of that Vertec. I'm looking for a full sized carry piece. Maybe we can cut a deal for that pitol and the ammo we talked about last night.
