    Default IDPA NATIONALS

    Read about it here:

I am not all familiar with this paper, but they didn't do a bad job with the reporting. The only error made was a short blurb about "competition guns".

    Kudos to Ted Murphy!

    Talking Re: IDPA NATIONALS

The first Nats I've attended - and it was a BLAST. Met all the shooters during the three days - also SO'd there. It was great seeing the different shooting "styles", as well as watching the nationally ranked shooters come through and 'smoke' the stages like the rest of us wish we could...

Ted, Melissa, John and the rest of the staff and crews did a great job - it should be there next year as well. If you're interested in shooting the Nats, make sure you have two major sanctioned matches under your belt before June of 2008 (time frame approximate!) A bunch of my IDPA shooting pals wanted to shoot it, but didn't have the requisite major matches shot within the required timeframe.

And Drew is right - the Standards stage was a real challenge. Weak handed head shots from 7 yards, strong hand head shots from 10 yards, etc. I got lucky with my first target and shot the sucker clean - zero down! The SO for that stage said it was the only one clean that he had seen the entire day.

Now if I can just stop prepping a 1911 trigger like I do a DA/SA P229, I'll stop nearly AD'ing the wrong spot on the target!
