For any type of at home situation....wether someone is breaking in, or just to go investigate a suspicious noise.... what are you grabbing in a hurry? Heres mine.

If I just hear something and the old lady wants me to investigate if it was just the cat or not. I grab my XD40.

If someone is breaking in and I can tell that right away, wife will hide in closet with the cell phone and P3AT, I grab the AR15 with the XD40 on backup.
