    Default York eatery?

I'm going to York the end of the month and wondering about a recommendation for lunch, nothing fancy, and NO fast food national chain.

    Thanks in advance

    Except it's not in York.

And 30 minutes is a bit of a drive for lunch, isn't it?

    Where in York?

    Downtown? East? West? South?

Bill Mack's on Mt Rose Ave. (Good Broasted Chicken)

StoneyBrook Diner on 482 (Then gown down the road a little more to Stoneybrook gun shop)

Round the Clock diner on east route 30

These are a few I like but there are no shortages of good places to eat in York and I am sure you will get good input from others. Enjoy!

Not sure how far out of the way you want to go or what you'll be hungry for, but some places in that area I like are:

Memphis Blues BBQ on White St. a little northwest of the Fairgrounds.

Robburrito's is a few blocks west of the Fairgrounds on West Market St. BIG burritos and some other misc foods.

Lattuca's Subs is a bit further past Robburritos on West Market. Haven't eaten there in a few years but was always good when I did.

Sam & Tony's is on West Market towards the city square.

Blue Moon is also on West Market, near Sam & Tony's. They are a bit pricey though. I'm fairly certain it has new owners since I've been there last.

Out on rt. 30 there are a bunch of restaurants, although many are chain & fast food.
El Rodeo is a local place & has good Mexican food.
There's a new Japanese steakhouse/hibachi place called Fujihana that's decent.
I usually only eat at Round The Clock Diner after hours (their food isn't bad - typical diner stuff, some is a little expensive for what it is though) I'm the same way about the diner next to Olive Garden (used to be Starlite diner) I think it's called Lyndon diner now? I haven't been there since it was Starlite.

Near the city square, there are a number of restaurants:
Colosseo is a newer Italian place, it's a little on the expensive side for dinner, but their lunch menu is pretty reasonable.
Harp & Fiddle - Irish pub next to Colosseo.
MB & company - American/French(?) food, nextdoor to the new court house.
The Left Bank is downtown also, I've never eaten there but people rant about their food. I've heard it's a bit expensive.
Marcellos pizza, Jim & Nenas, Keo (Asian food) are near the square. A bit east on Market there's a place called Market St. Viet Thai Cafe that has good Thai & Asian food.

Depending on the day(s) you are in the area, there are some local stands/restaurants at Central Market on West Philadelphia St. I believe they are open Tues, Thurs, & Sat until 2pm.

EDIT: Just saw you said Friday... nevermind about central market then. There is another market on the East end of York (Eastern Market) that is open on Friday but it's not really "near" the Fairgrounds.
