Default Small-scale blackpowder cannons - anyone into these?

I guess these are basically blackpowder pistols on a carriage - Any good websites for complete newbs?

Or, anyone know of Dominick Carpenter's work -

Are they legal in Pa? How about home made ones? If I wanted to make one.

I have one, but I don't do much with it. It mainly just sits in the box in my basement. Use it to make noise on holidays mainly. .50 cal.

Just bought one of these. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIte...Item=124282273 It came on Monday 03/09. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. It weighs about 31lbs. Probably just going to be a noise maker unless I find something that fits in the bore without any modifications. Pretty well made, could use some final polishing if it is going to be shooting projectiles. I'll update after I shoot it if anyone is interested.

Yes - please let us know how it goes! I'm looking to dabble in a BP gun and am torn between a smallish cannon (have no truck to haul it or the ducats to spend to consider a 1/4 or 1/8th scale Parrot or Napoleon) or an ACW rifle like an Enfield.
