Re: M&P 45
I've owned a S&W M&P .45 for about 18 months. It has been 100% reliable and is very accurate. I've had no problems with it. I use a Blade-Tech holster with it.

Re: M&P 45
I have it in 40 and like it. There's a lot of criticism of it with unsupported chambers etc, but I really like it. It has a great feel and has proven accurate and reliable. Enjoy your new piece.
As for holsters, what do you like?
Leather?
Synthetic?
IWB?
OWB?
The list goes on forever. I think we need to narrow that down a bit.
I Have a Blackhawk Serpa and like it, but I don't carry it and only use the holster for range time.

I don't own one but I've shot them and really like it. I bought a SW99 in .40instead.

Re: M&P 45
I own one about a year now and as others have said, very accurate. I use a serpa holster. One other thing I've done is have a set of Novak fiber optic sightrs mounted, love th3em also, my eyes arent getting any younger.

Re: M&P 45
I like mine. Originally had the thumb safety version, but I traded it in on one without it, which allows me to use a Crimson Trace lasergrip on it.
I carry mine in a Don Hume H721OT (open top) OWB holster.

I have a SERPA as well, but that doesn't conceal very well on me since the holster rides further away from the body.
There currently aren't a ton of holsters for the M&P 45 (more for the 9/40), and adding the laser limits things a bit as well, since it interferes with the fit on some holsters.
