Default Something I noticed not too long ago. And it upsets me.

I was on a trip not too long ago. I don't usually do road trips, and did this one under protest.

We stopped at a PA Turnpike Commission ran and operated rest stop to use the bathroom.

WTF is up with them putting sharps containers in the bathrooms? WHY THE HELL are they condoning shitbags shooting up in the bathrooms, and putting containers up for their dirty, used needles?

Am I alone in being upset by this?

I guess you'd rather the "shitbags" leave their used needles on the floor or in some other position that you or children could possibly get stuck with them. Also, people with Diabetes and other legal reasons to use needles might need them. Ever thought of that? Clearly you havent.

Its a good idea, its keeping dirty needles off the floors and other areas.

As noted above, there are legitimate uses for the containers.

But even if they are put there for the shitbags, how is that condoning it?
Junkies are gonna shoot up whether the containers are there or not. Do you want to be stepping on used needles? Or have the trash collector get stuck with a needle poking through a garbage bag?

Or maybe we could use tax money to hire full time police to patrol every bathroom.

Wow. Take it easy on the guy. Apparently he didn't think about diabetics using them. Not the end of the world.

Did you take lots of pics on your trip?

They also have them in the bathrooms at the new Casino in Washington County and I was also confused.
Then someone pointed out that since the casino wants to keep you there as long as possible, it puts them there for diabetics.
I assume the same is true for the rest stops. If someone with diabetes is on a long car trip, they probably appreciate that.

Actually, even with me being a diabetic, I didn't consider that. But I'm not IDDM, so my bad.

I guess it's just sad that society feels that it's necessary to put a sharps container in a bathroom at a rest stop.

I took very few pics, it was a road trip to see Dr. Dirty at the Alter Bar in Pittsburg. It wasn't bad, but a 4 hour car ride to see that was not my idea of a great time.

Dr. Dirty? How was he? Valby is always a great show in my experience!

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

like the company I used to work for, they probably put them up after shitty dirtbag insulin users and other legal drug users couldn't be bothered to break off, or cover the needle after using and disposing of the syringe, and the sanitation workers got stuck.

several workers at my company got stuck due to IV medication users laziness..so they put up sharps containers.

months of worry over aids tests doesn't help anyone.

    same idea here.

why in the hell would you instantly think its for ILLEGAL drug users.

get yer head right, and yeah, yer completely alone in being upset by this.
