I thought it might be fun, and sometimes infuriating, to start a new thread where we can all post some of our favorite/hated generally ill-informed remarks put out there by the anti 2A people and media. I'm referring to the people who say things like "high powered 9mm semi automatic Glock", or people who throw the "assault rifle" term around, or a recent example I saw on the news with some "expert" clown explaining that an "Uzi is a very powerful gun, just look at how long the gun is". Could be fun to include links, etc. when available too.

I'd like to add a disclaimer also: I realize often these dumb remarks come from some idiot newscaster who is reporting on some unfortunate and tragic incident, and I don't wish to make light of the victims of these incidents but rather point out the ignorance and sometimes out-right inflammatory nature of the remarks made in reporting the circumstances.

My favorites are ones like:
Yeah I believe in the 2A and Pa. Const. art. I, § 21 but...
• machineguns should be illegal
• using alcohol/drugs while carrying should be illegal
(Although I believe in the 2A and Pa. Const. art. I, § 21...)
• this guy is an asshole for carrying a handgun without a license or into a courthouse or onto school property (and deserves what he gets)
• we shouldn't exercise our rights lest the antis make worse laws that will inhibit our rights
Yeah open carry is okay...
• but there's pretty much no situation in which it will be the most satisfactory form of carry (e.g. there's always a reason: you're protesting and the media and laypersons will miss the mark if you shove this down their throats, carrying this way all the time will cause antis to begin regulating open carry, the bad guy will shoot you first, the bad guy will disarm you, etc.)

A few months back I was trying to get a friend of mine to retrieve his father's stored-and-unused 1911 and come shooting with me. Both my friend and his brother asked me what he would need to do to get the gun registered in his name.

It is jaw-dropping to see how many people think that guns need to be "registered", whatever the hell that means.
