About How Long Does it Take to Get Your PA ACT120?
I would like to become a police officer and was wondering about how long the whole process would take. If anyone who actually is a cop can help me that would be great.

the training is 20 weeks...have to pass a background/psych/physical test to get in. And it cost around $3400 when it's all said and done, unless you are able to get sponsored by a department, then they will pay your way. Good luck

Cops have desks too. I say go for a ride-a-long or ask to shadow a cop.

Re: About How Long Does it Take to Get Your PA ACT120?
Yea i know they have desks but i wouldn't mind doing desk work at all if i had a gun and a badge on me while doing it rather than kakis and a polo shirt. But going along with a cop for a day or even and hour would rule. What are the pros and cons of State police and city?

This is not a police forum. Go check out the boys over at domelights, I am sure they are great guys.
Your quote:
"i wouldn't mind doing desk work at all if i had a gun and a badge on me while doing it rather than kakis and a polo shirt."
You do say some off the wall shit on a regular basis, the above is a good example. I am not sure that it will be so easy to wear the badge and gun without clothes on while doing "desk work."
You have internet access and are an enterprising young man, go check the websites of whatever police organization you are interested in.

Re: About How Long Does it Take to Get Your PA ACT120?
its only because its the internet so you can get away with saying stuff you normally cant in real life. Where else in real life do you see these crazy arguments. Its easy to argue with people online because you can say whatever you want and have no serious repercussions. But i really don't try to argue especially on a website like this. I take this website very seriously.
