M19 and grilled chicken sammiches

Been a while since I posted a meal protection so here you go:

Grilled boneless chicken breast with Stubbs Original BBQ sauce, fresh lettuce, Duke's Mayo, on a freshly baked artisan roll.

Sides:
Gundelsheim Hot & Spicy German Pickles and Herrs potato chips.
If you like hot pickles, these are the best!! I get them and lots of other great German food at Riekers Prime Meats in Fox Chase.

All washed down with some Hofbrau Munchen Hefe Weizen bier.

This great meal is well guarded by a 1978 vintage S&W model 19-4 6" .357 magnum.

I'm definitely not a beer and potato chips person, but that sandwich looks mighty good and hot and spicy pickles is music to my ears.

Very purdy. Those are awesome grips on that revolver. I seem to recall asking someone somewhere on this forum where I could get some awesome wood grips for my new Smith & Wesson Model 686-6 .357 Magnum and they never told me. Meanie! There's an unwritten rule about having cool stuff — the person having the cool stuff has to tell anyone who asks where they got it so others can try to get the cool stuff, too.

Believe it or not, the best place to find wood grips is on eBay. There are tons of S&W wood grips on there. The other place to check is on the S&W Forum in the classifieds. There are always a lot over there as well. I believe you have to join in order to view the classifieds over there.

Be careful though, S&W wheel guns can be just as addictive as Sigs (I'm not kidding!)

I know. I'm already thinking that I need to make a return trip to Cabela's for the .50 AE Smith & Wesson revolver they had in the display case next to my .357 Magnum when I bought it. When the guy took out the .50 AE and handed it to me, I couldn't believe it. It was like holding a portable cannon.

Now, I want one.

I don't know how much a .50 AE kicks, but I am aware of the cost of the .50AE ammunition. The Smith & Wesson .50 AE sure was neat-looking though.

Hehe. Yes, I know. It'll hurt. On the positive side the kick will be a nice deterrent to spending too much money on ammuniton. LOL

I'll get back to you tomorrow evening on the P228 question. SIGARMS told me that my P228 Two-Tone was manufactured in May 1995. I purchased it on 10 December 1997. I'll have to pull the gun to get the proof date codes off of the slide. I'll do that tomorrow and let you know what it says. I'm tired now and I picked up season two of Leave It To Beaver and I want to go start watching them for a bit before I retire for the evening.

It probably makes sense to add a field to my firearms inventory spreadsheet for those date code things and record them so I have them readily available going forward.
