Someone tried to sell me illegal firearms today.
Walking down main street in East Stroudsburg with my girlfriend today and some late 20's early 30's guy approached me( I was OCing). He was dressed up in a suit, and very red in the face. Told me he sells guns for cheap and he buys them for even cheaper. I just kind of stared at him and told him I was alright on that and kept walking. He was trying to get me to exchange numbers with him. I don't know if this guy was an under cover cop trying to get me to do something illegal or just an asshole. Anyone think I should report this to the police?

I think you should get his number. Maybe he just has rosacea.
What makes you think he's doing anything illegal? Nothing you've described gives me that impression.

Chillax, dude. I read it as the fact that he told the guy to bugger off, but he wouldn't take no for an answer as the reason he thought the guy was an asshole, not because of the red face.
If someone tried to sell me a gun on the street and kept at it after I said no, I'd have gotten his number, given him a fake one, and then do a little investigating on line as well as let the PSP know. You are a straight white man. You don't get to be the victim, sweetie.

Re: Someone tried to sell me illegal firearms today.
While it sounds a tad shady to me, I'd have taken him up on the offer. Cheap guns are cheap guns. Nothing wrong with picking up a few high dollar pieces for a great discount. If they're handguns, you have nothing to worry about since you have to get them transferred through an FFL anyway, and if the gun(s) are listed as stolen, well, the seller's in deep trouble. Not your problem. If in doubt about any of the guns, just get in touch with the police and ask if anyone's had some guns matching the descriptions stolen recently.

If he was up to no good, it seems strange that he would approach an OCer anyway, being that many people think a person OCing is a LEO of some kind. Seems kinda like a weird experience there.

You could have called his bluff. Have him meet you at a ffl.

No point in screwing around with it. Get as much info as you can and don't give up any. Call the PSP and give them the info. If anyone wants to take a chance on it, their business. I look at it as a chance to get a potential scumbag off the streets and maybe someone gets to go home to see their kids again instead of getting shot by a BG.

Re: Someone tried to sell me illegal firearms today.
The purchaser is under no obligation to have the firearm transferred through an FFL. That's the seller's obligation.
18 Pa. C.S. §6111. Sale or transfer of firearms.
(c) Duty of other persons. - Any person who is not a licensed importer, manufacturer or dealer and who desires to sell or transfer a firearm to another unlicensed person shall do so only upon the place of business of a licensed importer, manufacturer, dealer or county sheriff's office, the latter of whom shall follow the procedure set forth in this section as if he were the seller of the firearm. The provisions of this section shall not apply to transfers between spouses or to transfers between a parent and child or to transfers between grandparent and grandchild.
