Drilling out a Lee disk
Anyone have experience drilling out the Lee disk to measure Winchester 231?
The published data in the Lee manual isnt too accurate for me.
For instance so far I have found...
3.5 grs = #34
4.2 grs = #40
4.8 grs = #46
5.1 grs = #49
Right now I am looking to develope a 9mm load from 3.9 grs to the max of 4.5 grs. Any suggestions of what size drill bit for which setting to gain increments of 3.9gr, 4.0 gr, 4.1 gr, 4.3gr, 4.4gr, 4.5 gr?
I hope I made sense to you guys.
ThanksThere's no such thing as a good gun. There's no such thing as a bad gun. A gun in the hands of a bad man is a very dangerous thing. A gun in the hands of a good person is no danger to anyone except the bad guys."

Re: Drilling out a Lee disk
I did the opposite. I drilled & tapped through the side of it to make it adjustable to lower capacities. Turn the screw in and it holds less powder, out for more. This worked great with WC-820 ball powder. Not sure how well it would do with a flake powder that doesn't flow as well. I probably used an 8 or 10-32 screw.
Lee also makes an adjustable charge bar. http://www.leeprecision.com/html/catalog/powhan1.html
I have one, but I don't remember why I stopped using it.
