That can be followed up with "I never intended to break the law" followed by "nanny nanny boo boo."

In private business, there'd be an estoppel argument, and detrimental reliance, but I suspect that the Feds have made themselves immune from those legal principles.

Taking into consideration the original purpose of arm braces, we need to get the ADA involved.
Two bottom lines that the ATF can't change or ignore, arm braces were designed and approved to allow handicapped persons to shoot with one hand, and, the ATF can't regulate how a person holds a gun (already had a court ruling on that one). Effectively what they are doing is in effect, charging people to use the handicapped toilet stall.

I've seen posts on other forums about some people already doing the e-file Form 1 and saying no picture proof is required. You don't even have to show it's a braced pistol to register it as a braced pistol.

That alone speaks to the true intention of this 'regulation.'

Why are people registering already? The "amnesty" hasn't even started yet.

What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms!

Couldn't say, but I've seen some that have gone through the process and stated that the e-file site has some option to 'waive' the $200 payment.

A whole lot to read and process.... Do we have any clarification on if it is now considered published in the National Register? Or when that might occur?

Coworker: "I wasn't going to get the vaccine, but if they're going to give me $50, I'll take it."

That and the fact that a lot of those who are eager to register thier guns think that doing so now will enable them to "beat the rush".

I also suspect there are LOT of people out there who are under the mistaken assumption that once the pistol is registered and they get their 'free' tax stamp, it will then be considered a SBR and they can just willy-nilly pop a stock on it. I guarantee you this is going to happen and it's going to turn the whole giant shit show into a shit hurricane.

You can remove the brace and install a stock once it is registered.

    https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regula...ilizing-braces

Click the link to open the FAQ pdf under "What Do You Need To Know?"

Then you can read this on page 4 to page 5:

    10. ONCE THE FIREARM IS REGISTERED AS A SHORT-BARRELED RIFLE (SBR) CAN I REMOVE/CHANGE THE *STABILIZING BRACE* OR ATTACH AN ITEM MARKETED AS A STOCK? IF SO, AM I REQUIRED TO NOTIFY ATF IN ADVANCE?

Yes, the firearm is registered as an SBR, and you can change out the *brace* device or stock for a different brace or stock. You do not need to contact ATF/NFA because changing the brace/stock does not change the configuration of the SBR. However, if the length of the firearm has changed you will need to notify the NFA Division.
In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796
