Hello, I am a new member, and hold a CC Permit in both NY and PA. NY is my primary state of residence. I had just recently joined because this forum is the best one I've seen for getting info for PA Gunsmiths, PA Dealers and discussion and posting of laws and regulations pertaining to the state of PA; and it's full of good people from what I've seen here so far. I've been visiting for quite some time and have finally joined due to my new carry permit in PA.

That's pretty much it!

Haha, you'd think that would be a great honor having a NY permit, seeing it takes months and the release of all your info and first child to get it. It took me 2 weeks to get the PA permit, probably one of the only states that still believes in the Second Ammendment, and the people's right to own and carry (mostly).

Oh, we have our problems too.
Since I moved here from IL though I look at the laws here like I have gone to heaven. LOL

In all seriousness, it took me a couple of years to figure out which PA gun laws I found most offensive.
Now that I have been here for a while I keep my eyes open and have a pretty good relationship with my elected officials.
Maybe we can get some of the remaining bad laws changed for the better before I move away

I hear you, the PA laws are like a dream come true to the NY pro-gun, law abiding residents. Was IL that bad? I know nothing of it (although I think pistols are banned in Chicago like they were in Washington, right?). NY is now again facing a .50 caliber ban, which includes muzzleloaders and shotguns. If we get it (which I seriously hope we don't) we'll be hunting with .410s for a while.
