    Default M1A question

I'm looking towards purchasing a new M1A sometime in the near future. Can someone tell me the difference between the standard sights and the match sights? I assume the difference is rear sight adjustments are in smaller incriments on the rear appeture?? Also if anyone could post pics showing the differences of the sights that would be greatly appreciated.

IIRC you're correct about the finer rear sight adjustments. They also use a smaller size rear aperture and the front sight is narrower.

If you're application is target shooting they'll probably be an advantage but if the rifle is to be used in a defensive role you're better off with the standard sights.

The National Match rear sight also has a hooded aperature that fine 1/2 minute of angle elevation adjustements can be made.

Thank you very much for that pic and description. Does anyone know of anybody that has any M1A's in stock in my neck of the woods?

national match sights are a thinner front blade. & a rear adjustment of 1/2 inch MOA at a 100 yards. Finer adjustments & smaller pep sight at the rear. Great gun! Very hard to find anywhere nowadays DCGJ45
