Default Tons of ammo at Dick's in Reading

Just a heads up, I was at Dick's sporting goods in Wyomissing this morning. They are stocked to the gills with ammo...I don't remember specific prices (I think they were average), but what I did see:

.22lr both bulk and smaller packs
    .380 in 100 round packs
9mm in 50 & 100 pack along with Ultramax (factory reloaded)
    40 S&W in 50 & 100 round packs & the Ultrmax as well
    .45 in 50 & 100 round packs

Lots of .223 & 5.56 on the shelves (20 round & "shooters" pack). the .223 was on sale as well $7.98/20 or $19.98/50

All Shotgun shells buy one get one 50% off...includes slugs & they had Black cloud (same deal)

Remington 12g game & target loads for 3.98 (20 round pack)...which is a GREAT deal (was $5.98). This is brass base. Walmart is now up to $22/100.

All pistol ammo was behind the counter. Rifle & shotgun on the regular shelves.

Mossberg 500's were on sale for $219 and Remy 870's for $249.

    Good report.

A buddy of mine was telling me that the best price he could find on 12ga was about $10 for 25. I told him that he needs to look around.

Can't afford to buy .223 at that price. But I guess if you need it, I've seen worse. How much was the 9mm?

I didn't take a good look at the prices. I had a basket full of 12g & it was pretty heavy! I've been reloading my own pistol rounds now & can crank them out for around $5.00 per 50 rounds in both 9mm & 40 S&W. It's slow on a single stage press (about 1 hour per 100 rounds start to finish) but it's a stress reliever both before and after work and very easy to do. Best $100 tool I ever bought!

Anyway, if you give them a call back in hunting, I'm sure they can tell you the prices! I was just shocked to see not only did they have pistol ammo, but the qty!

I was in there about a month ago and the shelves were kind of bare.

Maybe they just got a shipment in?

May have to swing by tomorrow....did you notice if they had Federal .22 in?

    Saw it too....

They even had 250 rd packs of .45 ACP for $100, which is about $20 more than Walmart, if you can find then there.

I agree with the reloading statement. I recently traded some .40 S & W (for almost nothing)at the gun shop since I don't use them. I'd rather them in use than the scrap yard. Contact in the future if you want 40 brass range brass, no charge if I have it. Rep sent for the use of the single press. Have fun & be safe.

Walmart will almost always be cheaper unless Dicks is running a sale. The price difference is usually a buck or two per 50. The problem is finding a walmart with it in stock.

Yep, I agree with soup....walmart will be $1-$4 cheaper per 50.
Dicks usually makes you purchase a "case" qty...usually 10 boxes in order to get the sale price.

Net weeks sales flyer has NO pistol ammo on sale....all shotgun.
This weeks Remington 12 g ($3.98) is going up to $5.48 as a "sale" price!
Don't ask me how I know!!!! LOL
