Default Man accidently shoots himself in the leg

    http://www.mcall.com/news/local/poli...,3784996.story

An Allentown man accidently shot himself in the leg at his friend's home Saturday, according to city police.

After a night of drinking, Francisco Ortiz, 32, decided to spend the night at his friend's home at 629 Green St. in Allentown, police said.

While removing a gun from a holster on his belt, the gun fired, blasting Ortiz near his right knee, police said.

Police said they took the gun and continue to investigate the matter.

They took his gun? That totally adds insult to injury, literally.

That happens in NYC and you face over three years in jail. Ask Plaxico Burress. As a matter of fact, you don't even have to fire the gun. Just having a loaded firearm is an automatic 42 months behind bars.

Booze and guns don't mix very well.

Well, we weren't there, but the article did say this happened after a night of drinking. Probably not a good idea to leave a gun with a couple of drunks.

it must have gotten touched by the invisible finger gnomes.
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

The article doesnt say whether he was legally in posession of the gun either. Or if the gun itself was legal. I'll second the dumb-ass award.

common sense is hard to come by these days...shame you can't get it at the welfare office...oh wait, i'm cross-threading here lol

After the OC lunch in lancaster the other day, i was heading out to a bachlorette party...if i was the one driving my gun would be on my hip since my beverages would be limited...since we had a DD, then the gun stayed at home. can't shoot straight if i can't see straight...that's common sense.
