    Default Major Trash Problem

So I've had this trash problem in my area for years. For some reason the occupants of the adjacent street do not place their garbage on the street in front of their houses like everyone else on the block. Instead, there is a narrow grass alley behind their houses and next to mine....and all 8 houses pile their trash in one gigantic pile near my front door. I put up a privacy fence which keeps them and their shit away from the house. They started bitching about the fence to the city, as they think for some reason that is their property when it's clearly in my deed. Nothing came of their bitching about my fence.

The asshole neighbors refuse to put it out front of their house. The asshole trash collector manager guy for the area wants it there. I've called him several times. After he proved to me he was a jackass, I built the fence.

What the hell on gods green earth allows ten houses to pile all their trash in one place, how is this sanitary?

Call the municipality you live in and explain the problem. They can cite/fine the people for not disposing of their trash properly. Take pictures to document so if they don't take care of it, the municipality can take them to court. Good luck.

yup I'd report it to authorities.
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

i call the mayor, Raven-Idiot's, office and they forward the complaints to the trashman manager for that area. That guy comes to my house and tells me all those houses are supposed to put their trash there...it's row houses and the trashmen will not walk onto private property to get trash because it's a liability. I called the Allegheny County Health Dept. I get told to call the city. The police don't deal with these kinds of disputes. Maybe I should start photographing cockroaches. Why does this glorified trash man have the final say? It's a benefit to him because he doesn't have to collect trash on another street. They leave trash strewn everywhere every week anyhow.

Call the Code Enforcement Officer. He can cite the people. Ask for a meeting between him/her and the so called trash manager (Is he a employee of the municipality or independant company?).

Most household trash includes mail with their names & addresses. You are free to sort through their trash to collect evidence. You might also start posting the contents of their discarded mail online or tacked onto lampposts, un-redacted. I'm pretty sure the USPS regs don't cover discarded mail, and perhaps they'll start thinking about what they discard on your land after you post their dunning notices and medical test results and Pay Per View porn selections. (I have to note that there's an actionable tort, if you publicize private information, but it may be a defense that they threw that private information into your yard. caveat emptor.)

If it's worth enough to you, you can sue all of them for a private nuisance. Photos of the trash heap, plus the physical identifying evidence, should suffice. On the other hand, there will inevitably be unintended consequences in the form of slashed tires, busted windows, poisoned pets, and trash thrown directly onto your lawn.

The fence is the best bet. Any trash that ends up on your lawn, you are free to return to their lawn. Obvious video cameras have a beneficial effect on people walking over to your land with trash in hand, as well.
