    Default Would you rather

    Get a VLTOR MUR upper:

And a set of LaRue Rails:

or a one piece VLTOR VIS

This VIS will cost me a bit more...about 70, and I will lose some interchangeability...but it's pretty slick.

I would go with the MUR and LaRue rails. Just because of the interchangeability.

Although that VIS is nice! Still don't think it would worth losing the interop. I guess if you had multiple ARs it wouldn't be as a big of a deal, but I don't.

If I were you, I would go with the VIS.

Only because, you know, I didn't and I want to live vicariously through other people. I think the VIS looks cool, but I'm with Mojo. If you only have one, it may be nice to be able to swap things out. (But if you have mroe than one go with the VIS! And tell us how nice it is!)

VIS / simplicity. The finish will all be spot on, it will all look factory and clean.

The MUR is neat. What do they weigh in comparison to a standard upper Kaos?
    That's my only hesitation.

The VIS is lighter because there isnt as much "meat" needed for positive lockup of the rail system. The MUR is only slightly heavier than a standard upper.

By lighter/heavier...we're talking ounces in either case...not much.

Im not going to mount any optics in the handguard area...the only thing that'll be up there is a larue lightmount witha surefire light in it, and my VFG. Likely not going to use my laser.

    Im still leaning LaRue/MUR.

My only gripe with the MUR is that I can't take the ejection port door off myself. I'd have to sent it back to VLTOR if I wanted to keep the warranty. The only reason this is an "eh" point for me is that I planned on having the inside of the door engraved to say

    DONT TREAD
    ON ME

    In each of the panels.

So of like noveske's ode to team america with the "surprise cock ***!!" ejection port cover.

    Playing devils advocate...what about neither?

Once piece LMT upper so you can change barrels easily and switch calibers.

Actually, I'd probably go with the VIS. Just because you don't see a lot of those floating around out there. and it looks like they give you the barrel nut wrench to build it.

lol - with the difference in cost between the two systems you could buy a receiver upper and lower block and an armorers wrench.

    Personally, I like the VIS.
It's just like my LMT MRP & LWRC M6A2 uppers.. Simple one piece system, and lighter in weight.
I don't mind not having the interchangeability, I'd rather the simplicity...
