Ontelaunee gun club?
I was thinking of joining due to they have 200 and 300 yard range and it's only $20 to join with no requirement to attend a meeting. And with the price of gas lower I won't mind the ride. Can someone give their opinion of this range, I would appreciate it.Thanks

I'm a member, it's a nice range. It's not a "super developed" range by any means, but for the price it is unbeatable.

Re: Ontelaunee gun club?
The International Trap range is supposed to be pretty nice. I've never seen it. There are only 2 lanes each at 200 and 300. As often as not, one of the locals will be parked on them all day. Figure and hour and a half drive and the toll was $2.25 a side. Not sure what that'll be up to with the increase. All the rifle and pistol ranges are closed most summer weekends for matches. I only get up there a half a dozen times a year. My shooting partner and I take a day off work, clean out the safes and test the car springs.
Still worth the price.

Re: Ontelaunee gun club?
I just mailed my application today. And I figure what the hell for 20 bucks I'll try it for this year. If I make it 2 or 3 times this spring- summer- and fall and hopefully I can try out the 200-300 yard range. If I like it next year will only be 15 bucks to renew,if not At least I had a new place to shoot for this year.

Re: Ontelaunee gun club?
I love the place. I usually duck up 2x per month on week days and 95% of the time have the place to myself (gotta love working nights).

Re: Ontelaunee gun club?
That's the only days I would go is during the week, I would take a day off from work. My weekends are usually busy and that's the best time for me to plan any shooting is during the week.

Re: Ontelaunee gun club?
When I lived in New Tripoli (then Whitehall) I went there frequently. Nice range, people were very helpful and the place is well maintained. It is a beautiful part of the county - I would definitely recommend it. Fortunately, now that I live in Montgomery county, I belong to Branch Valley - another nice club. Hope it works out for you.

Go during the weekday and you'll probably have an open lane.

Re: Ontelaunee gun club?
nice range not too many people up there during the week been a few times i was all alone up there making big booms with the mosin and a few times doing the same when it was pouring down rain just like it probably saw back in its prime in russia. i figure for the 20 a year i pay 2 trips up there is about the same as one or two trips to shimersville for the pistol at night so anything after that is a bonus for my money
A.T.F alcohol, tabacco, and firearms... who's bringing the chips?
