New Today HB 2378 - Carrying under the influence of alcohol
Regular Session 2015-2016
House Bill 2378
Short Title: An Act amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in firearms and other dangerous articles, providing for the offense of carrying firearms while under the influence of alcohol.
Prime Sponsor: Representative DEAN
Last Action: Referred to JUDICIARY, Sept. 27, 2016 [House]
Memo: Prohibiting Individuals with a Concealed Carry Permit to Carry While Under the Influence of Alcohol
See text at http://www.legis.state.pa.us/CFDOCS/...r=2378&pn=3944
While this is a practice I do not approve of, I don't believe there has been sufficient instances of occurrence that a law is warranted.

Maybe it's time to start playing their games, and use their tactics against them. Amend constitutional carry to this.

Re: New Today HB 2378 - Carrying under the influence of alcohol
Oh god. Another unnecessary law. But it'll probably pass because it's "common sense" blah blah blah. Does it say anything about it prohibiting people from Open Carrying while under the influence of alcohol? Or does it say anything about people who are illegally carrying concealed while under the influence of alcohol? Or is is just targeting those with a LTCF?

" under the influence of alcohol " is vague and arbitrary, laws must be definitive.

Is this something that has already been passed or still needs to be voted on?

So if you're driving drunk, you can't have it in your car either?

Re: New Today HB 2378 - Carrying under the influence of alcohol
Greetings,
This was also put forth as an amendment (along with over 100 other antis) to HB 2258 (would strengthen State firearms law preemption). IIRC, the BAC limit noted in the amendment was .08%. I don't know where that falls re driving.........
Regards, Jim
