Anybody Have Any Experience With a Magneto Speed Chrony?
I've been thinking about ordering one of these to replace a 20 year chrony that someone someone () shot off one of the now-missing struts a few years back.

I've watched a few You-tube videos on it, and am just wondering if its worth the price (around $375).

You'll shoot your chrono off kid.

Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Wonder if it hanging off the barrel would affect groups?
It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

I've been dreaming of getting one of these some day. Because I use suppressors I would have to get the V3 that the OP has shown but there is a sporter model that is much less, available for $179.

That's gonna cost some coin if you have to buy one for each barrel on the gattling

Re: Anybody Have Any Experience With a Magneto Speed Chrony?
I have one and it works fantastically, I use it when I'm working up reloads. Way better and far more consistent than my previous screened unit that would only work on a nice sunny day. There is a poi shift when using it but I haven't noticed it affecting group sizes to any measurable amount. Operation is simple, strap it to the barrel, make sure you aren't going to shoot it then plug in the bayonet and the controller and start ahooting.
It comes with several different spacers in order to set the bayonet just below the bore. However for mine I just set it up for a sporter contour and adjust the sensitivity if required for larger barrels. The only thing it had trouble with was heavy lead bullets out of my Sharps, for that I had to bump the sensitivity up to have it register. However after that it worked like normal and I just had to turn the sensitivity down when going back to my other rifles.
The controller saves the data as a series which you can either delete or archive to the included micro SD card. You can also download the info and save it to your computer however I just use my phone and take a picture of the screen. Finally gives me a good use for snapchat.

Overall I would highly recommend it, the data is spot on and has allowed me to get first round hits out to 1000 yards and it is far easier to set up and use at a public range. Plus it doesn't even have to be a bright sunny day for it to work properly and not tell me that my 178gr bullets are doing 3500 fps out of my Springfield like my old unit would.
