2nd Shield or full size M&P ?
A couple months ago I won a raffle.
I had a choice of a S&W M&P 9mm Shield Ported, Mossberg ATI shotgun, or cash.
I chose the the Shield as my winnings.
And also bought the Mossberg.
I've been shooting my Shield.
And I'm not as accurate with it as I am with my Taurus Judge.
I think that may be because of the Shield's smaller size.
And my researching on the internet appears to backup my theory.
So I've researched larger pistols.
And I found two that I like.
The full size M&P 9mm and the Beretta 92G.
Well; last night I won the same raffle a second time.
Well not the exact same raffle; but different raffle, with same prizes, from same organization.
Sometimes it pays to by a crapload of tickets.
This time; instead of choosing the Shield, I'm considering choosing the cash and using it towards the purchase one of those two larger pistols.
So today I rented both a the local indoor range.
I shot the full size M&P 9mm better then my Shield.
And I shot the Beretta; in both SA and DA; better then the full size M&P.
BUT the grip on the Beretta is too fat for my hands.
I need both hands to release the magazine.
So; unless I learn I was doing something wrong with the Beretta; the full size M&P is better for me.
Before I decide in taking the cash from the raffle and buy the full size M&P.
Is there any value of having two Shields that would greatly outweigh buying the full size M&P ?
Thanks;

Just got two delivered yesterday. I always liked the feel of the m&p line and the new 2.0 is even a little nicer. I'd say go with that or the beretta 92a3. It can be had for around $1k though but it's really nice. Has suppressor night sights, threaded barrel, 3 17 round mags, slimmer grip and thicker rubber grip included as well as a cool Plano looking storage container.

I'm pretty sure there are G10 grips that will thin the beretta out a bit I think Wilson Combat used them on their custom models.

Is this some way of saying neener neener neener? Lucky bastard! I guess your next move is to sell us your book How to Win Free Guns by Ett. my advise, add some cash and make it a 45 Shield. Never take the cash, it will go to some B.S. something or other. Guns are Forever, diamonds are carbon just like fowelling.

If you flip it.....get the most expensive MSRP one.
If you KEEP it.....the benefit is having a house/car gun thats the back up to your probably carry gun. Instant familiar platform!

I havent shot a shield, but have handled them. I carry an m&p 40c for several years now. I don't care for the single stack feel in my hand, so the double stack full size would be my choice. Personal preference.

Ditto. My summertime daily carry is a single-stack, just for concealability purposes. Even at that I always get an extended magazine to get my pinky on the grip. But it just never feels thick enough. (In winter with sweaters and stuff that make conceal easier, I carry a double-stack)
Other than needing another small CC pistol, can't think why you'd go for another shield...DGAF
