Re: anyone here work private armed security
One of the services that my Private Detective Agency provides is deploying Armed Security Specialsits. We do not provide the "watchguard" type individuals, but, rather the higher incident personnel. Nightclubs, Jewelers and such. Also, around political campaign seasons we do more politicians.
The tough part is that if I am going to pay someone $30-35/hr, which I do, then they better be worth it. Meaning all my personnel, except for one, is former or current military. A few are LEOs. All come with a higher level of proficiency with protection skills and firearms. All are expected to appear at my range at least one day a month, most come more, to train and drill. The youngest member of my team is 27 yoa. Starting out in "armed security" with no experience, military or LEO, one could expect to work for the armor car services or such, until experience is developed. All my men have at least 5 years, or more, of working armed positions. Not sure how old you are but I would recommend joining the armed forces. Many, if not most, of the life stories I ever found interesting had military service experience to draw on. If you truly want to live a life of adventure, you have to put yourself out there and take a risk. In the field of "armed" anything, military service has instant credibility. Funny, some of the worst firearms handling, shooting, storage that I had ever seen was when I was in the Army, but to the outside world, armed and military go together.
Be safe (and experienced).
