Default mark III P35 FN/ Browning?

    Hi all,

How are the new Browning P35's now being offered by FN Herstal?
I have never shot one , they sure do look nice , i handled one in a gunshop today , feels much lighter and handier than i thought,
What do you think about them?

    thanks , mrnyman

Nice guns. I would have totally carried one about 70 years ago.

While I lough at this comment, and I understand that its an old design only slightly newer then vernerble 1911, its a pleasent gun to shoot.

I think most of forgot how nice to shoot nicely weighted metal frame 9mm Semi-Auto.

I would not pay premium they require for Browning MkIII's, but some of FN HP are sipping in to $300, its a nice gun for the money

its not for carrying, its just to add to my collection and for some solitude shooting at the range, i have a lot of glocks, sigs and berretas for carrying,

Its a 70 year old gun that is still used by the armies of over 90 countries at last count including british SAS,

Also the historical value being the worlds first high capacity pistol.

The store where i shop Sells new FN herstal Mark III's for 489 dollars,.

    Thank, Nyman

I wasn't blasting on it, i was being serious. I probably would have carried one If i had lived 70 years ago. That was my kind of gun in that era, just like 60 years before that i would have carried a LeMat.

Oh, and even then i would have told 1911 users to abandon their archaic technology and get with the times.

actually firearms technology hasnt changed much in the past 150 yrs or so, except for heckler&koch inventing polymer framed pistols in the early 1980's, actually thiink they marketed the p9 and p 4 in 79'

That's a decent price for a NIB Mk III. I've got a .40 Practical that's been nudging my Glock off the belt lately. I'm really considering getting a 9mm as well. Try one, you won't be sorry.

    KPW,

the one i looked at at the gunstore were a .40 cal. also, very well balanced for a big gun, felt much lighter than the 35 ounces that it is, sights very nice ,points very nicely sight ,picked up easily, i can see that FN did thier homework, .

JMB considered the p35 hi power his best design in a handgun, i can see why.
Think i will be cancelling that overpriced Smith & Wesson 686 i have been looking at. It were refreshing to hear quality steel on steel again when i worked the slide.

Put a wide combat trigger in the MK111.....it makes a world of difference....for me anyway!
