Instructor Development Workshop

The workshop is presented by NRA Senior Training Counselor Jason Schafer and Training Counselor Barry Burton, and will prepare students for certification as an NRA Instructor for Basic Pistol, Home Firearms Safety, and Personal Protection Inside the Home. You will learn instructional techniques, how to plan courses and how to work as a member of a training team. Topics include firearms safety, ammunition, rifle and shotgun shooting and cleaning and storage of firearms.

ALL Candidates must attend the first weekend. Candidates not desiring the Personal Protection In the Home discipline may elect to omit the third meeting date.
Certified Ratings are available to individuals who wish to be fully qualified to conduct basic courses (21 years of age or older). Assistant Ratings are available to individuals who wish to assist certified instructors in order to gain the knowledge and experience needed to become a certified instructor (18 years of age or older).
Cost for instructor candidates is $400 plus a $30 donation to the club. You may reserve a seat with a 50% deposit no later than 30 days prior to the workshop. We accept Visa/MC/Amex/Discover or personal check made payable to JSHolsters, LLC.
