    Default Newly Purchased Old Guns

I just bought these off a coworker here in Johnstown. He was needing some money to get a 6" 357mag and a kayak for his grandson, and hadn't shot these in years - so I offered to take them off his hands.

First up is a Rossi Model 720 44special. 3" heavy lug barrel 5shot stainless steel.

Second up is an Iver Johnson Model 55A Target 22rf 6" barrel. Its got some years on it, as you can see with it's patina. Not sure how old it is yet, but it's still tight and bore is great.

I had an IJ like that one. The bore was great, and it shot very well. The cylinder was shot out in it though, and it was difficult to eject spent rounds. Still, it was a very cool revolver. I gave it to a friend when I left Alaska.

Let the .44 Special disease begin. When you start eyeballing old three screw flat tops and 5 screw, 5 inch N frames for conversions, your past the point of no return.

Sorry about the quality of the pics. All I have with me is my cellcam while I'm on my weekly commute for work.

The pics dont do the Rossi any justice. The guy I bought it from had only fired 15 cartridges out of it, and left me the remaining 5. He had the original box and manual, and the box still bears the dealer's layaway sticker with my coworker's name on it.

The IJ is homely looking. Nearly all the blueing is now worn down and the metal is more brown patina than anything. Holster wear, a few minor dings, just a worn down finish.. I like it though and I was lacking a 22rf handgun.
