.44 Magnum loads - Carbine vs Revolver
Still another reloading question! If I am loading .44 magnum rounds, do I need to consider in which one of these guns they will be used? Both are modern firearms. One is a Ruger Redhawk, and the other is a Winchester Model 94. I would imagine the "Ruger only" loads would need to be avoided if I planned to use the same reloads in both, but beyond that, is there any real difference?

Re: .44 Magnum loads - Carbine vs Revolver
I think that warning for "Ruger only" was intended for handguns.
The Winny 94 handles more powerful and higher pressure cartridges to begin with, I personally wouldn't worry about hotter 44 mag loads in it.
What you would need to worry about is the feed length. Some guns were designed and built to feed cartridges that were at or just slightly over spec'd Over All Length.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515, SteveWag

Thanks guys! 625, that Buffalo Bore info looks especially interesting. Wouldn't it be fun to sneak a few of them into the cowboy action shooter loads!
Of course, I would never do a thing like that...

Re: .44 Magnum loads - Carbine vs Revolver
Unless you own a high end ruger or S&W then you need to consider the weapon its being fired from, im no expert but my ruger No.1 .416 rigby can fire anything under the sun, but my Christensen Arms .416 wetherby can only fire the Hornady .416 Wetherby match grade round, any higher and i crack the stock and overheat the barrel
