Letter templates
Would anyone find it beneficial to have a section under Law and Politics for letters that other members have already drafted responding to proposed legislation?(call it Letter Templates or something similar) I find some pretty good ideas in some of the letters that I've seen posted. The problem is, you have to wade through 15 pages of commentary and other chatter to find what you were looking for. Likewise, if I could benefit someone else by doing the writing and all they have to do is change the address, I'm all for it.
I realize that there may be an issue with a thread of the same name under the PA or National section. (e.g., SB 27)

Re: Letter templates
For right now we can cut and paste posts with decent letters. I'd like to get other sites on board for this one ie PAOpencarry and GOA. Pool the mental resources for a very effective campagin.

Re: Letter templates
this would be great. I think you'll find more members sending letters to their representatives if they have a prepared document where they only need to change their name and address on the page. I'm too damn illiterate to write a constructive letter.

I think this is a decent idea, but I also wonder how effective it is when a rep gets a whole stack of identical letters. They probably give that as much consideration as you do when you receive their pre-prepared, non-personal responses.
I think having folks write out their own thoughts, and the have any minor errors corrected as necessary is a better approach. It's more work, but I think it's more effective too.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! PM for more info.

You have a good point. It would be nice to know what standard policy is in PA House/Senate or if it's hit or miss w/ each individual rep. That's a question that I aim to ask in April if I can make it to the Rally in Hburg. I know when my agency gets comment letters on public notices, each one has to be addressed individually, which is why I recommend splitting each bill to its own letter. I was thinking along the lines that some folks just need that little push. Self starters are gonna be self starters regardless. Inertia's a funny thing.
