    Default SOCOM for $1500?

I can pick up a SOCOM for $1500. This one has a black finish stock 9wa told that it's aluminum), w/ a bipod mounted and a 16" barrel with a muzzle brake. Not crazy about a 16" 7.62, but $1500 for a M1A seems like a good price. Don't have a round count, but rifle appears to be in good condition.

    Is this a good buy

You can get a new one for $1700....if you can find one $1500 seems very reasonable as long as it's in good shape. How many mags are included in the sale?

I bought a S/A M1A Bush rifle (18" barrel) two years ago when the congress went deomcratic, sort of my 110th Congress Commemorative "Assault Rifle". The gun dealer chuckled when he told me democrats were good for his business.

I paid $1,300, new and I believe it is a model that has been discontinued. This one was a little dusty from sitting on the rack, but I just couldn't see pushing $2,000 for a SOCOM that I thought was a little "awkward" looking. Just my opinion.

Given the current market conditions, $1,500 could be a good deal. Since then, I've used political events as excuses to buy two AR-15s. 20" Bushmaster and a 16" DPMS. The two AR-15's are nice rifles, but there is something very comforting in magazines full of 20 rounds of 7.62 NATO.

When I picked up the DPMS at Elk County Ammo and Arms in St Marys a couple of weeks ago, they had two AR-15s left. 16" and 20" Colts, both sporting $1,800 price tags.
